A defective product is an imperfection in a product that has a manufacturing or design defect or is faulty because of inadequate instructions or warnings.

5 Types of Defective Goods according to Lean Manufacturing

A product is in a defective condition if it is unreasonably dangerous to the user or to a consumer who purchases the product and causes physical harm.

Moreover, a defective good is considered a consumable, commercially produced, and distributed good that is characterized by one or more of the following five (5) attributes:

(1) unfit for its intended use,

(2) dangerous or harmful for normal use,

(3) does not carry adequate labels, identification, or instructions for its use, or

(4) is inherently dangerous due to defective design, assembly, or manufacture.
