OEE takes into account the various sub-components of the manufacturing process –

  • Availability, It considers unplanned and planned stops. An Availability Score of 100% is obtained when the process is always running during planned production time.
  • Performance, It considers Slow Cycles and Small Stops. A Performance Score of 100% is obtained when the process is running as fast as possible.
  • Quality. It considers defects and product to be reprocessed. A Quality Score of 100% is obtained when there are no Defects (only Good Products are being produced)

This percentage can be viewed as a snapshot of the current production efficiency for a machine, line, or cell.

How to calculate OEE:

It is calculated as:
